Earlier this year Max appeared on Chicago Med as a Ellis Turner, a man who has lived most of his life in an iron lung. That doesn’t stop him from running a successful financial planning business and endearing himself to Maggie, who he comforts as she awaits the results of a biopsy.

“We all live on a razor’s edge”, the Ellis tells her. “Everybody. Just some of us know it more than others. In a way, we’re the lucky ones. We have the good sense to cherish every moment.”
